Homeroom Assignments

March15

Parents and students,

We are currently discussing shuffling students around between homerooms within our triad after spring break.  We want to make sure that all the students have the best possible learning environment in order to facilitate their academic and social success.  We realize that there might be some initial disappointment on the students’ part, but are confident we can find a mix that will be in the best interest of all involved.  Nothing is decided yet and if you have any questions please feel free to email or call any of the three of us.

Thank you!

Mr. Edwards, Mrs. Kircher, and Mrs. Swain

Canvas

January17

Parents,

Our triad was chosen to pilot the Canvas platform. Canvas is what all students use from grades 7-12. We are hoping that this will give our triad a major jump start for next year! If you do not see a quiz come home that is in Powerschool, you can check the score and review answers by looking at your child’s canvas account. We are all using Canvas in different ways. Some assignments might be listed and sometimes quizzes will be taken on Canvas. We are trying it out, so know that it will look different in every class! Talk with you student about how they get on to canvas and feel free to explore what we are doing! Please email your child’s homeroom teacher with any other questions.

Thank you!

Wonder Part 1 Quiz

September28

If you would like to see your child’s score. Have them log into their google docs form. Then click on this link: https://goo.gl/forms/DucDsiTOqbGWq6RH2

If you are logged into their account, you should see where you can “review your score.” Click on that section and it will show you your students responses, and what the correct answer was. I adjusted the scores in PowerSchool based on spelling and if they got partial credit for more than one correct response.

Scholastic

August16

I want your child to be a successful reader and for that, I need your help. When children choose their own books to read for pleasure, they enjoy reading more and spend more time doing it. The more your child reads, the better they will do in school and in life. Scholastic Book Clubs flyers are made for you and your child to shop for books your child will love to read. Each month, the flyers are filled with trusted, excellent quality, age-appropriate books chosen by Scholastic for prices as low as one dollar. Plus you will be helping our class when you order: Scholastic matches each order you place with FREE BOOKS for our classroom to share. Thank you for helping your child become a successful reader!

Go online to: scholastic.com/newparent Look up my name: Brittany Swain Or enter our Class Code: HGVRH

Follow the instructions to place your order online.
