1–Find a poem and turn it into a story! (Feel free to use one of your classmate’s poems for this activity or any other poetry that IS NOT yours!) Make sure to post the poem along with your story version.

2 — Post one or two of your poems from this week that you are proud of and feel comfortable sharing

Both Blogs & Two drafts due MONDAY Sept 23 along with self/peer edit and reflections.

 

Blog Week 6:

– 1: What is your Anthem or Motto for life right now? This can be a quote, song lyrics, a famous phrase, or a phrase You have made up.  Make sure to reflect on WHY and how you have gotten to this phase of life. (For example, my Anthem in High School was different than it would be today. See my blog for my current Anthem.)

Definitions–

Motto– short sentence or phrase chosen as encapsulating the beliefs or ideals guiding an individual, family, or institution.

Anthem– a rousing or uplifting song identified with a particular group, body, or cause.

Friday: First Draft due to turnitin.com (YOU MUST SUBMIT TWO DRAFTS FOR THIS PIECE!) PEER REVIEW

HW: Finish BLOGS over the weekend.- Must submit first draft to Turnitin

Blog 1– OBSERVE TWO PEOPLE — jot down their look, their actions, their words… Try and pick two people who are of similar age and style to the people in your short story.  Feel free to make inferences about the people you observe but DO NOT say WHO they are, especially if they go to WHS.

You should have 2 BLOGS for this week..

#1 – Everything but the Eyes– Many of us are visually oriented. We forget that others may respond equally well to a sense of smell or hearing. Your TASK – Find a Picture (may be one you have taken or just one on the internet) that shows a SCENERY of some sorts. (Can be something like a busy hallway or an empty field… Just make sure it is SETTING.) Using imagery and sensory details of taste, smell, hearing or touch, describe this place. YOU MAY NOT USE visual descriptions!

Thursday:

  • Post Your Favorite Author to Blog
  • Post 10 things about you that most people wouldn’t know. Include at least 3 visuals.
  • IDEAS FOLDER — Turn in TODAY
  • HW: Blogs due Tomorrow

Friday:

  • Share Authors – Share aloud
  • Blogs – Have a min of four people comment on your blog (2 on authors/2 on 10 things).
  • Finish your piece of writing.

HW Make sure one piece of writing is Turned in BY Monday!
