I am the proud principal of Oak Trace Elementary!
Educational Background: I received my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Purdue University and my Masters degree in School Administration from Indiana University.
Teaching Experience: I began my teaching career in Carmel, Indiana. I taught third and fifth grade at Forest Dale Elementary for 8 years before going into administration. I then served as assistant principal at Nora Elementary in Indianapolis for one year, and principal at Central Elementary in Lebanon for 3 years. While in Lebanon, my school received the National Blue Ribbon Award and I was able to meet President Clinton in Washington D.C. After my third year in Lebanon I was lucky enough to be hired in Westfield to oversee construction and open Oak Trace!
Family: I met my husband, Dave, at Purdue! He is an engineer at Interactive Intelligence in Indpls. and we’ve been married 19 years! We have two children. Shelby is in second grade at Oak Trace, and Robbie is 12 and a sixth-grader at Westfield Intermediate School. We also got a puppy this year, Mackey (named after Macky Arena at Purdue!) She is a goldendoodle, and we love her!
Hobbies: I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, vacationing on the beach in Gulfshores, Alabama, and of course, working with great teachers, kids, and parents at Oak Trace!
