About Mrs. Rowe

My love for music began at a very early age. I started taking piano lessons in first grade, and I loved to sing along with my favorite Disney movie-musical, Beauty and the Beast. Musical theater has always been a very important part of my life. Some of my favorite childhood movie musicals were Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Mary Poppins, Singing in the Rain, and White Christmas. I also love performing in musicals and have been in over 15 shows. Some of my favorite roles include Rizzo in Grease and Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray.

I grew up in Lafayette, IN and graduated from McCutcheon High School. I was in many musicals and plays in high school, but I also played Varsity soccer for four years and participated in Track and Science Club. I attended Ball State University and graduated with a degree in Vocal/General Music Education. While at Ball State, I sang with the Concert Choir, Women’s Chorus, and Chamber Choir. I also performed in the opera, 53rd street.

I enjoy being a music teacher because I love making music with others. I like exploring different ways of making music: guitar, piano, percussion, singing, and even digital music. I feel so fortunate that Westfield Intermediate School has the resources to do just that.
